The Daily Pulse: Summer Preserving Class, Saving Abel and the Art of Dying, and ZZ Top

Good morning! We made it through Monday. So here's how you can celebrate that feat.

Pete Lanctot will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special today at noon in the visitor center with Dismal Creek. It's free to attend! Bring your lunch!

This evening at 5, Beardsley Community Farm will have a class on preserving those fruits and veggies you worked so hard to grow. It's free to attend!

At 6 p.m., Denise Kiernan will talk about her new book The Girls of Atomic City and women's roles in the early history of Oak Ridge at the East Tennessee History Center. It's free to attend!

Also at 6, Saving Abel and the Art of Dying will perform at NV Nightclub with Blacklite District. Tickets are $12-$15. Buy them here.

The United Mountain Defense, which is an organization of volunteers dedicated to protecting Tennessee's environment by stopping mountain top removal mining processes, will have a volunteer meeting tonight at 7 at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria. It's free to attend!

Legendary Texans ZZ Top will perform at the Tennessee Theatre with the Ben Miller Band. Tickets are $79. Buy them here.

Wrap up the night at the Preservation Pub, where Smooth Operationz will play at 10 p.m. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
