Good morning! We're so close to the weekend! So here's what's going on this Thursday.

Alex Vucelich will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special at noon in the visitor center with D13. As always, it's free to attend. Go listen to some new tunes.

Also at noon, the 1010 Gallery will open. On display is a juried art show featuring local artists called "Mythical Genitalia." It's free to go check out the art.

Kevin West, author of Saving the Season: A Cook's Guide to Home Canning will be at Union Avenue Books at 6 p.m. to sign copies of his book and demonstrate the canning, pickling, and preserving methods discussed in it. It's FREE to attend!

Nerdy comic Brian Posehn will be at Sidesplitter's Comedy Club tonight at 8 to perform his stand-up routine. Tickets are $18-$22. Buy them here.

At 10 p.m., Marina Orchestra will perform at the Pilot Light with North Carolina's premier West African pop band Diali Cissokho and Kairaba, and Christ, Lord. It's $5 to get in. 18+ only.
