The Daily Plan-It: Gail Palmer, Knoxville Film Festival, and the Goodwill Fashion Show

Good morning! Still hanging in there? Good. Now take a look at what's going on today.

At 11 a.m., the YMCA on Jessamine Street will continue with its Move Well Today classes.The 12-week course costs $25 to join. 

Author Gail Palmer will be at the East Tennessee History Center at noon to read from her new book Smoky Mountain Tales: Feuds, Murder, and Mayhem. It's free to attend!

This evening at 6 p.m., the Knoxville Film Festival (formerly the Secret City Film Festival) kicks off at Downtown West Cinema with a screening of film festival darling Short Term 12. Tickets start at $10 for one block of films, and up to $100 for VIP weekend pass. More info at the film festival's website.

Also at 6, you can catch the Goodwill Vintage Fashion Show at the Hilton on Church Street. All the outfits will come from Goodwill stores, and will be available for purchase right after the show. Tickets are $40. Buy them here.

Need some tunes tonight? Check out Colorado alt-rockers the Yawpers, who'll play at the Well at 8 p.m. with Brent Thompson. There's no cover! 21+ only.

And if you're still out and about at 10 p.m., check out Ga-Na-Si-Ta, who play a mix of jazz, bluegrass, funk, Celtic, indigenous percussion, and jam music, at the Preservation Pub. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
