The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Toastmasters Club, Doug and Telisha Williams, and the Dirty Bourbon River Show

Good morning! Glad we all made it through the weekend! Here's what's going on around town today to keep you going.

At 11 a.m., grab the little ones and take them to Smart Toys and Books for Children's Story Time. There will be other little activities to keep the kiddos entertained too. It's free to attend! For more info, call (865) 691-1154.

Got a big speech coming up? Want to practice your maid of honor/best man toast? Or maybe you have to give a presentation soon. Practice at the Downtown Speakers Toastmasters Club at 11:45 in the TVA West Tower. It's free to attend and everyone's welcome. For more info, call (865) 599-0829.

At 7 p.m., writers Jeff Hardin and Kali Meister will read from their work in UT's Hodges Library as part of the Writers in the Library series. It's free and open to the public.

Also at 7, Nashville Americana duo Doug and Telisha Williams will perform for WDVX's Tennessee Shines show. Want to see them in person at the visitor center? Buy your tickets, which are $10, at the Blue Plate Special show at noon, or at the door starting at 6.

At 9 p.m. catch the feisty New Orleans Band Dirty Bourbon River Show, who combine traditional brass music, rock and roll, and folk, at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria. The Mumbles will also play. The show's free to attend!
