The Daily Pulse:

Walnut Street fix

When the city closed the block of Walnut Street with the two 1920s buildings under threat of imminent demolition, and a KUB truck showed up, some pedestrians assumed the wrecking ball was imminent. A temporary street closure will likely be necessary to demolish the buildings, and often, for a historic building, the final appearance of a KUB truck is the equivalent of extreme unction.

Though there's no cause for preservationist sighs of relief, the street's open again. KUB workers are still on hand working on the issue, which was indeed a repair of an unrelated broken water main, just across the street from the embattled buildings.

The dumpster is still there.
