The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Bookaholics Book Group, Venus in Fur, and the Milk Carton Kids

Good morning and happy hump day! Take a look at what's going on around town.

The Market Square Farmers Market gets started at 11 a.m. and will stick around until 2 p.m. Head over there on your lunch break, if you have some time.

At noon, the Bookaholics Book Group will meet at Union Avenue Books to talk about--what else--books! It's free to attend. Show up and find out what next month's book discussion will be about.

At 2, members of the Flying Anvil Theatre company will be on hand at Lawson McGhee Library to continue with the eight-week playwriting course. It's free to attend!

At 7 p.m., catch the quiet folk duo the Milk Carton Kids at the Bowery with Sean Rowe. Tickets to the show are $12-$15. Buy them here. 18+ only.

The Flying Anvil Theatre will present a preview performance of the adult-comedy-thriller Venus in Fur at 7:30 in their new digs at 525 N. Gay Street. It's a pay-what-you-want performance tonight, and there will be more performances this weekend. Check the company's schedule for more info.

Wrap up the night at the Pres Pub, where Demon Waffle, local ska-punk rockers, will perform at 10 p.m. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
