At noon, the Square Room will host the Word Players, who will present excepts from Patrick Shanley's play Doubt: A Parable. The performance is free to attend. Cafe 4 will provide lunch for $10 (you can purchase tickets for that here).
If music is more up your lunchtime entertainment alley, check out Horse Opera, who'll play at noon in the visitor center for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Keith Kenny. It's free to attend.
Starting today, the Knox County Public Library and the Flying Anvil Theatre will present an eight-week course on playwriting. The inaugural class is at Lawson McGhee Library today from 2 to 4 p.m. And it's FREE to attend!

Atlanta metal quintet Sevendust will make a pit stop in Knoxville tonight. They'll be at the Disc Exchange at 6 p.m. to sign copies of their CD Black Out the Sun before heading over to the Old City at 7 to perform at NV Nightclub with Serosia, Digital Collapse, and American Fangs. Indie-pop singer/songwriter Ben Rector will play at the Bijou Theatre tonight at 8 p.m. Tickets are sold out, but ask around, and you may find some.
Nashville Americana outfit Those Darlins will play at the Pilot Light at 10 p.m. Their new album Blue the Line was released on Oct. 1. It's $5 to get in. 18+ only.
