The Daily Plan-It: Kids' Story Time, Zumba, and Miniboone

Good morning! It's Monday again. And workers are putting up holiday lights downtown. So, meh news all around. But there are things happening today! Take a look.

The Emporium Center for Arts and Culture opens at 9 a.m. and is displaying paintings, jewelry, and journals from Knoxville artist Deborah Bowen. The works will be on display through Oct. 26, so get down there this week to see it. It's free to go check it out.

If you've got a bad case of the Mondays, and the munchkins don't, take them to Smart Toys and Books for children's story time at 11 a.m. It's free to attend, and there will be activities to keep the kiddos busy. For more info, call (865) 691-1154.

At noon in the visitor center, Tom Brosseau will perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Sean Watkins. It's free to attend, so grab your lunch and go listen to some new music.

Slept late this morning and missed your workout? Head over to Southside Baptist Church, where Carrie Jackson will lead a zumba class at 6:30. It's $5 to participate. For more info, check out Jackson's website

Postpunk power pop outfit Miniboone will play at the Preservation Pub tonight at 10 with Mobility Chief. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
