The Weekend Plan-It: Big Gigantic, John Paul Keith, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show

Good morning! We made it! It's the weekend! Congratulations to us. Now take a look at what's going on, and make some plans.

FRIDAY
At noon in the visitor center, Joey Allcorn will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with John Paul Keith. It's free to attend, as usual.

From 3 to 7 p.m., the Knoxville Flea Market will take over the Knoxville Expo Center. Go check out the 400+ booth of jewelry, crafts, overstock merchandise, furniture, and antiques. Hope you practiced your haggling skills! It's free to attend.

Halloween in coming up! Need a good scare? Head down to the Dungeon of Darkness Haunted Castled at the Alnwick Community Center in Maryville. It opens at 7 p.m. Tickets are $13-$20. Buy them here.

Colorado's ambassadors of livetronica jams Big Gigantic will be at the Old City Courtyard at 8 p.m. with Opiuo and Paerbaer. Tickets are $20.50-$25. Buy them here.

If you miss former Knoxvillian John Paul Keith at noon, you can catch him with his band the One Four Fives at the Well at 10 p.m. with Dixieghost. It's $5 to get in. 21+ only.

Pennsylvania guitarist and songwriter John Terlesky will perform at the Pilot Light (as Brother JT) at 10 p.m. No cover! 18+ only.

SATURDAY
Looking to add a furry friend to your family? The East Tennessee Border Collie Rescue will be at Agri Feed Pet Supply from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you think a border collie is the dog for you (or want to find out), go check it out. For more info, call (865) 584-3959.

At 11 a.m., the Wild Thyme Players will present their pop-up theatre project with readings of plays in Sequoyah Park. It's free to attend! Go enjoy the fall weather and some drama!

And if the kiddos just can't wait to try out their costumes, dress them up and take them to the zoo for Boo! at the Zoo. It's $6 to attend. Check the zoo's website for more info and tickets.

Hanna's in the Old City will have a retro dance night starting at 8 p.m. Tunes from the 80's and today's Top 40 will be on the playlist. Cover's $5. 21+ only.

You know it's getting close to Halloween when the Tennessee Theatre screens the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It starts at 11 p.m. and tickets are $9. Buy them here.

SUNDAY
If you missed the flea market on Friday and Saturday, head over to the Expo center on Sunday. It'll be open at 10 a.m.

The Maryville College Theatre Department will present Madea, the classic greek tragedy, at 2 p.m. in the Clayton Center for the Arts. Tickets are $10. Buy them here.

The Knoxville Vegan Supper Club will meet at 5 p.m. at the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church (3611 Kingston Pike) for a plant-based meal and lecture. For more info, check out the club's website, or call (865) 264-3894.

Ok, you artsy types, this one's for you. The Well will host the Knoxville Poetry Slam, which starts at 8 p.m. There's no cover! 21+ only.
