The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Inspiration at Lunch, Tom Brokaw, and the Eagles

Good morning and happy hump day. Take a look at what's going on around town today.

At 11 a.m., the Market Square Farmers Market opens. Go take a look at the fall veggies available and think of all the wonderful beef stew variations you could make with them. And maybe get a pastry while you're there, too.

The Arts and Culture Alliance's series Time Well Spent: Inspiration at Lunch continues at noon in the Emporium Center. Photography historian Jeffrey Stoner will be on hand to talk about his work today. It's free to attend!

Legendary NBC News journalist Tom Brokaw will give a lecture this afternoon at UT's Cox Auditorium (in the Alumni Memorial Building) at 1:30. It's free to attend. Don't miss this, news junkies!

Another group of (rock and roll) legends, the Eagles, will perform at Thompson-Boling Arena tonight at 8 p.m. with J.D. and the Straight Shot. Tickets are $40-$149. Buy them here.

Wrap up the night at the Preservation Pub, where local funk outfit the State Street Rhythm Section will perform at 10. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
