The Daily Plan-It: KJO Jazz Lunch, Modern Dance Class, and Cyndi Lauper

Good morning and happy hump day! Shall we pause to celebrate that mile stone? OK, great. Now take a look at what's going on today.

At noon, head over to the Square Room for the KJO Jazz Lunch show "Keeping up With the Joneses." KJO and the Charles Rule Trio will pay tribute to the music of Hank Jones, Thad Jones, and Elvin Jones. Tickets are $15. Buy them here.

The Knox County Public LIbrary and Flying Anvil Theatre-led eight-week course on writing for the stage continues today at 2 p.m. in Lawson McGhee Library. It's free to attend, so if you have any interest in playwriting, check it out.

Dancers! Circle Modern Dance will have an intermediate/advanced-level modern technique class this evening at 6 p.m. in the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture. The first class you take with the group is free, and each subsequent class is $5.

The legendary Cyndi Lauper (YES! Of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" fame! Who else could it be?) will swing through town tonight at the Tennessee Theatre on tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album She's So Unusual. Tickets are not sold out (ya crazies), and they cost $49-$67. BUY THEM HERE.

Wrap up the night at the Preservation Pub, where North Carolina alt-country outfit the Fustics will perform at 10. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
