The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Mr. Knoxville, Chris Knight, and the Mutations

Good morning! We made it to Thursday. Just two more days before the weekend. So here's what's going on today,

At noon in the visitor center, Tom McBride will perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Mountain Soul. As always, it's free to attend. Bring you lunch!

As part of a new series, the Preservation Pub will host a concert at 5 p.m. in the Speakeasy featuring Ivy Latham, Blood Sausage, Corn Bred, and Chamomile and Whiskey (who's hungry now?) to benefit Redeeming Hope Ministries and the Amplifier street paper. Donations will be accepted. 21+ only.

The Mr. Knoxville Contest--a beauty pageant spoof--kicks off at 6:30 at the Hilton Knoxville. Contestants will model formal wear and casual wear, and show off their best talents. The winner, however, will be chosen based on the amount of donations collected for Goodwill. Proceeds from the event will benefit Goodwill Industries. It's $20 to attend. More info here.

Chris Knight will perform at Southbound Bar and Grill at 7 p.m. with Mic Harrison and the High Score. Tickets are $13-$18. Buy them here.

Sunny '60s surf-rockers the Mutations will perform at the Well at 9 p.m. with Hot Hands, and Appalachian Surf Team. Cover's $5. 21+ only.
