The Daily Pulse:

Inside Llewyn Davis, and the Laurel Theater-Coen Bros. Connection

Lou Gross, who's been the man behind the scenes at a few hundred shows at the Laurel Theater, has noticed more than a few associations between the Coen Brothers tragically wry films, especially the newest, Inside Llewyn Davis, and lineups at the Laurel Theater over the last few dozen years. A whole lot of the songs and/or singers the Coens employ in their soundtracks have some association with the little venue in the heart of Fort Sanders.

We won't go so far as to say it's eerie, but if the Coens ever pitch their tents in Knoxville, say to work on a long-rumored, never confirmed Suttree project, we bet they'll do a lot of hanging out at the Laurel. Lou offers this blog as a guide.
