Good morning and happy hump day! Hope you all bundled up this morning. Now pour another cup of coffee and take a look at what's going on around town today.
At noon, the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture will have an artists' collective panel discussion. Representatives from local arts organizations Mighty Mud, Vacuum Shop Studios, Gallery Nuance, the Birdhouse, and the 17th Street Studios will be on hand to talk about securing space, membership policies, co-op structure, financial models, scheduling exhibitions, nonprofit status, and more. It's free to attend.
The Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee will have a support group meeting for women with advanced-stage cancer at 1:30 p.m. It's free to attend. For more info call (865) 546-4661.
Impress your friends and family while you deck the halls with boughs of holly with some new old-fashioned moves you picked up at the beginner tribal fusion belly dance class, which is being held tonight at the Broadway Academy of Performing Arts and Events at 6 p.m. Claire Metz will lead the class. It's $12 to participate.
Harry Potter fans, assemble! Local comics will be at the Pilot Light tonight at 9 for the roast of Harry Potter (and friends). It's $8 to attend. 18+ only. (Pretty sure this is a good time to bust out the costumes.)
If you're still out wassailing among the leaves so green at 10 p.m., head over to the Preservation Pub and check out Nashville glam-rock outfit the Captain Midnight Band. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
