The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Belly Dancing, Martina McBride's Joy of Christmas, and Alex Kroll

Good morning and happy hump day! We're halfway through the week! So take a look at what's going on around town today.

Jamie Cook will perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special Show at noon in the visitor center with Tokyo Rosenthal. As always, it's free to attend.

If you're looking to switch up your workout or get your groove on somewhere, try the beginner tribal belly dance class led by Claire Metz tonight at 6 at the Broadway Academy of Performing Arts and Events. It's $12 to participate.

Country music super star Martina McBride is headlining her sixth Joy of Christmas tour, and will make a stop in Knoxville tonight at the Tennessee Theatre at 7:30. Take a break from shopping and rushing hope with your treasures to sing some carols with her. Tickets are $57-$77. Buy them here.

San Francisco funny man Alex Kroll will perform his stand-up routine at the Well tonight along with Angela Garrone, Matt Ward, and Matt Chadourne. No word on whether Kroll had to traverse fields, fountains, moors, and/or mountains to get here. It's $8 to get in. Buy tickets here. 21+ only.

Homegrown, Southern-fried swamp-jammers House of the Rising funk will play at the Preservation Pub tonight at 10 with Keith Kenny. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
