The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Yoga, Tour de Lights, and the Carolina Chocolate Drops

Good morning! It's beginning to FEEL a whole lot like Christmas--hope you bundled up this morning! Now take a look at what's going on today.

If you're downtown today between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., stop in at the Downtown Gallery to check out the 2013 artist in residence exhibit. It'll be on display through early January. It's free to go check it out.

At noon, the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church will have a yoga class. Donations will be accepted. For more info, call (865) 577-2021 or email yogaway249@gmail.com.

At 7 p.m., grab your 10-speed (or fixie, or whatever) and head over to Market Square to join the free 5-mile Tour de Lights bike ride through downtown and the adjacent historic neighborhoods. Organizers are encouraging participants to make the yuletide gay by decorating your bike. Hot cocoa will be served on the square starting at 6 p.m. (to chase your troubles miles away).

The Carolina Chocolate Drops will perform at the Bijou Theatre at 8 p.m. with Pokey LaFarge. Tickets to the show are $25. Buy them here

Wrap up the night at the Preservation Pub, where Marquee Mayfield will perform at 10 p.m. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
