The Weekend Plan-It: Delbert McClinton, Dax Riggs, and Trombone Short and Orleans Avenue

Good morning! We made it to the weekend! And if you haven't already made plans, we have a few ideas for you.

The Emporium Center is hosting the Arts and Culture Alliance 2013 Members Show through Dec. 23. The building is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it will be open from 5-9 p.m. for First Friday. It's free to attend!

This evening at 6, Olympic champion Scott Hamilton will hit the ice at the Knoxville Coliseum with more than a dozen other ice skaters to perform to the music of Amy Grant. Tickets are $22-$53. Buy them here.

Then at 8, catch the Lonetones at the Parlor (411 Gay St.). It's free to attend!

Also at 8, Texas singer/songwriter Delbert McClinton, who has been called a rock singer, a bluesman, an R&B singer, and a honky-tonk act throughout his career, will play at the Bijou Theatre with Alyssa Bonagura. Tickets are $34.50. Buy them here

Wrap up the night at the Pilot Light, where the Tim Lee 3 will perform at 10 p.m. with White Gregg, Pleases, and the Greg Horne Band. It's $5 to get in. 18+ only.

Head over to Kern United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to check out the alternative gift fair. Fair-trade clothing, jewelry, coffee, chocolate, and gifts will be for sale, as well as some baked goods. There will be free pictures with Santa!

The Market Square Holiday Market will take over the square from noon until 3 p.m. Go scope out some locally-made gifts for friends and family!

The Children's Theatre of Knoxville will present "Little Women" at 5 p.m. Tickets are $12. More info on how to purchase tickets is here.

The 5th Annual Lightfest for Tots kicks off in Concord Park at 6:30 p.m. The lighted boat parade will benefit the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Admission to the event is a new, unwrapped toy, or a cash donation. 

Acclaimed acoustic guitarist Robin Bullock will celebrate a Celtic Christmas at the Palace Theatre in Maryville at 8 p.m. Tickets to the show are $13-$15. More info on how to purchase tickets is here.

Grunge-psychadelic rocker Dax Riggs will perform at the Well at 10 p.m. with Cutthroat Shamrock. Tickets are $10. You can buy them here. 21+ only.

At 12:30 p.m., the St. Nicholas Christmas Market gets started at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Check out some more locally-made crafts for sale. It's free to attend.

The Tennessee Theatre will have free screenings of the classic holiday movie It's a Wonderful Life at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Don't miss it!

If you still haven't found all the crafts you want to give to your loved ones for the holidays, Ijams Nature Center's Holiday Market Place will get started at 1 p.m., and will feature food, drinks, music, and eco-friendly gifts to give. It's free to attend!

At 4 p.m., poets from the Sundress Academy for the Arts, a local artists' colony that hosts workshops, retreats, and residencies for writers, will read from their work at the Preservation Pub. It's free to attend. 21+ only.

Wrap up the night at the Bijou Theatre, where Trombone Shorty and the Orleans Avenue will perform at 8 p.m. with Alanna Royale. Tickets are $25. Buy them here.
