The Daily Plan-It: Ballet Barre Burn, LGBTQ Helpline Training, and Jason Isbell

Good morning! We made it through Monday! So take a look at what's going on around town today.

The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture has a new exhibit featuring glass from the ancient Mediterranean region. The more than 30 pieces on display are from the Yale University Art Gallery, and will be at the McClung Museum through June 1. It's free to go take a look, and the museum opens at 9 a.m.

Missy Kennedy will lead a quick and tasty cooking class for cancer patients and survivors at the Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee at noon. For more info call (865) 546-4661. 

The Amused Life Collective (221 E. Cumberland Ave) will have a ballet barre burn fitness class at 5:30 p.m. It's $5 to participate. More info at the collective's website.

The LGBTQ Helpline will train volunteers this evening at 6:30 at the Metropolitan Community Church. The Helpline has been lending an ear, referrals to services, and informing callers since 1985. To register for the volunteer training, call (865) 531-2539 or email office@mccknoxville.org.

Former Drive-By Truckers frontman Jason Isbell will perform at the Bijou Theatre tonight at 8 with Holly Williams. Tickets are sold out online, but they were $25. Ask around!!

Catch local hip hop acts Black Atticus, DJ Wigs, and Dead Kid at the Pilot Light tonight at 10. Cover's $5. 18+ only.
