The Daily Plan-It: Books Sandwiched In, Orion Astronomy Club, and Amy LaVere

Good morning and happy hump day. Here's what's going on today.

News Sentinel sports reporter Mike Strange will discuss the book The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football by Jeff Benedict and Arment Keteyian as part of the Knox County Public Library's series Books Sandwiched in. The discussion will start at noon in the East Tennessee History Center. It's free to attend and open to everyone!

At 1:30 p.m., the Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee will have a support group meeting for women with advanced cancer. It's free to attend. For more info call (865) 546-4661.

At 6 p.m., Claire Metz will lead a tribal fusion belly dance class at the Broadway Academy of Performing Arts and Events. It's $12 to participate. For more info, check out Metz's website.

The Orion Astronomy Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Grove Theater in Oak Ridge. There will be a lecture and discussion held. It's free to attend!

Wrap up the night at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria, where Memphis singer/songwriter Amy LaVere will perform at 10 p.m. There's no cover. 21+ only. (She'll also perform during WDVX's Blue Plate Special at noon in the visitor center, which is free to attend and open to everyone.)
