The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Cary Morin, Preston Shires, and Casey Jones

Good morning! Who else is ready to send the polar vortex back to Canada? Here's what's going on today.

The Downtown Gallery opens at 10 a.m. and is still featuring the work of 2013 Artists in Residence through Friday. It's free to go take a look!

At 10:30 a.m., the Blount County Public Library in Maryville will have Toddler's Tadpole Tales, which includes stories, songs, puppets, and coloring for kiddos ages 2 and under. It's free to attend!

You'll have two opportunities to see Great Falls, Mont., bluesman Cary Morin today. He'll perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special at noon in the visitor center with Ben Cosgrove (it's free to attend). Then tonight at 10, Morin will play at the Preservation Pub. The show is free! 21+ only.

If you're planning on dinner or drinks at the Bistro at the Bijou tonight, Preston Shires will perform some live jazz around 7.

The Well will kick off the evening at 8 p.m., when Casey Jones, Esh and Laith, and Jack Rentfro and the Apocalypto Quartet will all perform. There's no cover! 21+ only.
