The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Chess at the Library, the Steep Canyon Rangers, and Supatight

Good morning! The polar vortex has moved on and we're back to our regular winter programming. Put that down coat away for another 20 years. And take a look at what's going on today.

At noon in the visitor center, Bleu Jackson will perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special. As always, it's free to attend. Bring your lunch!

From 1 to 4 p.m., middle and high school students will be welcome to come play chess with friends at the Blount County Public Library. It's free to attend.

The Well is celebrating its two year anniversary with five straight nights of music and comedy. Tonight Brendon James Wright, Mike McGill, the Tim Lee 3, Whiskey Sessions, and Homemade Wine will perform. There's NO cover! 21+ only.

Western North Carolina bluegrass outfit the Steep Canyon Rangers (you know, the ones Steve Martin sometimes tours with) will perform (without the comedian) at the Bijou Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets are $19. Buy them here.

Asheville funk group Supatight will play at the Preservation Pub at 10 p.m. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
