Good morning! Is everyone handling the cold? Good. Now take a look at some indoor activities happening today.

At noon, there will be a gentle yoga and meditation class at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. Donations will be accepted. For more info call (865) 577-2021 or email

Kim Travathan, a Metro Pulse contributor and Maryville College assistant prof of writing and communication, will be at Vienna Coffee House in Maryville to talk about his adventures paddling the local rivers with friends, his dog, and solo. He'll have slides and readings at 1:30. It's free to attend! Don't miss it if you're in the neighborhood.

At 6 p.m., dancer instructor Claire Metz will teach a basic poi spinning class at the Broadway Academy of Performing Arts and Events. It's $12 to participate. More info here.

At 8 p.m., '90's jam/alt-rock band Big Head Todd and the Monsters will perform at the Bijou Theatre. Tickets are $25. Buy them here. And if you can't make it to the show tonight, the band will give a free preview of their concert at noon at the Disc Exchange.

Johnson City folk outfit the Barefoot Movement will play at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria tonight at 10. 21+ only.
