The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Yoga, Knitting, and the Knoxville Writers' Guild

Good morning! Assuming everyone has recovered from their first hangovers of the year, we shall move forward with what's going on around town today (in case you didn't get all that partying out of your system, or need further help recovering from the holidays).

Need to find your center? There will be a gentle yoga and meditation class at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church at noon. Donations will be accepted. For more info, call (865) 577-2021 or email

At 1 p.m., the Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee will have a therapeutic knitting class for cancer patients and survivors. For more info call (865) 546-4661.

And if you want to give your fitness resolution(s) a fighting chance, why not try some zumba? Carrie Jackson will lead a class at Southside Baptist Church tonight at 6. It's $5 to participate. Check out Jackson's website for more info.

Members of the Knoxville Writers' Guild will meet at 7 p.m. at the Laurel Theater to hear some local, regional, or nationally-known authors read from, and discuss their work. It's $2 to attend!

Then at 10 p.m., Horquillas will play at the Well with the Crowd, and Brian Kelly. There's no cover tonight! 21+ only.
