The Weekend Plan-It: Snow Day, Chris Jones and the Night Drivers, and Woman in Hiding

UT's science forum is back with a discussion on how polymer chemistry could change the world led by Dr. Jimmy Mays, a chemistry prof at UT and an ORNL Distinguished Scientist. Beardsley Community Farm's 6th annual winter fundraiser (aka Snow Day) kicks off at 7 p.m. at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria in the Old City. For $10 ($15 at the door), you get in and get to test out a bunch of local chefs' take on winter soups (and plenty of bread). There will also be a ton of local bands playing, a silent auction, and the third annual beard pageant (both the homegrown and homemade varieties). Buy tickets in advance here.

Hard-touring country music newcomer Justin Moore will bring his Off the Beaten Path show to the Coliseum tonight at 7:30. Randy Houser and Josh Thompson will open. Tickets are $32.50-$181. Buy them here.

Clyde Davenport, the 92-year-old fiddler and banjo player (and Jamestown, Tenn., resident) will perform at the Laurel Theater at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12. Buy them here.

Longtime Texas singer/songwriter Robert Earl Keen will perform at the Bijou Theatre tonight at 8. Tickets to the show are $29.50. Buy them here.

One-man electro-soul-R&B act Fine Peduncle will perform at the Well at 10 p.m. Cover's $5. 21+ only.

The McClung Museum Family Fun Day starts at 1:30, and includes games and activities related to the museum's exhibits. It's free to attend! Bring your kiddos!

The UT Theatre Department will hold a staged reading of Canadian playwright John Lazarus' unproduced play "Sex with Feminists" at 7:30 in the Art and Architecture Building. Lazarus is visiting UT as a writer in residence. It's free to attend!

Chris Jones and the Night Drivers, the long-running Nashville bluegrass act, will perform at the Laurel Theater at 8 p.m. Tickets are $14. Buy them here.

Knoxville quartet Hey OK Fantastic is reuniting after two years, and will play at the Well with Pretty Perfect at 10 p.m. Cover's $5. 21+ only.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert of entirely Mozart pieces at the Bijou Theatre at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $11-$31.50. Buy them here.

Lawson McGhee Library will screen Michael Gordon's 1950 noir film Woman in Hiding, which is set in Knoxville. It's free to attend! The screening starts at 3 p.m. Don't miss it!

Wrap up the night at the Preservation Pub for the Upstairs Underground Comedy Show. It's starts at 8, and there's no cover. 21+  only.
