The Daily Plan-It: Jazz Lunch, 'The Whipping Man,' and Fine Peduncle

Good morning and happy hump day. Here's what's going on halfway through the week.

The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra will be joined by Will Boyd and Kelly Jolle to pay tribute to Lester Young and Billie Holiday at today's Jazz Lunch in the Square Room at noon. Tickets are $15. Buy them here.

From 3 to 7 p.m., representatives from the Tennessee Health Care Campaign will be on hand at the South Knoxville Community Center to offer assistance in enrolling in the health insurance marketplace. It's free to attend. For more info call (865) 693-7809.

At 7:30 p.m., catch a performance of Matthew Lopez's play 'The Whipping Man,' about an unlikely passover celebration during the Civil War, at the Clarence Brown Theatre. Tickets are $5-$40. More info here.

Comedians J.D. Howard, Trae Crowder, Waylon Whiskey, James Holdiness, Rob Brindle, and Sam Donnelly will perform stand-up routines at the Well at 8 p.m. to benefit Redeeming Hope Ministries. Cover's $5. 21+ only.

Local one-man electro-soul/R&B act Fine Peduncle will perform at the Pilot Light at 10 p.m. with Linear Downfall, Meth Dad, and Chiffon. Cover's $5. 18+ only.
