Next Public House Pop-Up Features Knox Mason Chef

We wrote about Knox Mason's head chef, Matt Gallaher, in this week's special food issue, but his sous chef, Sean Richards, is also a big part of the restaurant's success. Now, thanks to the fine folks over at the Public House, you've got a chance to try Richards' food all on its own, and the menu looks amazing.

As per usual with the pop-ups, the three-course dinner is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening -- this coming Sunday, March 23. Here are the rest of the details, courtesy of Laura Sohn:
 
Sean grew up in small town in Vermont where he spent the summers helping his dad garden and the winters skiing and indulging in micro-brewed beer and the locally made Vermont cheese culture. The bounty of locally made products that he grew up with, inspired him to enter The New England Culinary institute. Eventually his culinary jobs sent him to Nantucket, south of the Mason Dixon line, New Zealand, Aspen, Colorado and then as travelling chef around the country.

He arrived in Knoxville, for the second go around (his first was at Blackberry Farm where he honed his skills under John Fleer) just before New Years of 2013. He helped his comrade Matt Gallaher open Knox Mason as a Sous Chef. In the short time that he has been there, he notes that it has been a very humbling experience, but also very rewarding.
