The Daily Plan-It: Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, Wick-It the Instigator, and the Royal Bangs

Woo! It's the weekend! If you haven't already made plans, we have a few ideas for you. Take a look.

FRIDAY
At noon in the visitor center, Grant Farm will perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Hilary Scott. As always, it's free to attend.

Nashville blues outfit the Stacy Mitchhart Band will kick off the Knoxville Museum of Art's spring concert series Alive After Five tonight at 6, along with Davis Mitchell and the Labron Lazenby Blues Experience. It's $15 to attend. (Check out the new Richard Jolley installation while you're there!

Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys are making their final tour around the country together, and you can catch them tonight at 8 at the Bijou Theatre with Jim Lauderdale. Tickets are $42-$47. Buy them here.

Old-school turn-tablist Wick-It the Instigator, a veteran on the Nashville scene, will play some of his signature mashups tonight at NV Nightclub at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10-$15. Buy them here. 18+ only.

Wrap up the night at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria, where Knoxville natives the Royal Bangs will perform at 10 p.m. with Johnny Astro and the Big Bang. Cover's $5. 21+ only.

SATURDAY
At 9 a.m., the UT Gardens Blooms Day festival kicks off. Go pick up some specialty plants, check out some workshops, and take your kiddos to some fun activities. Full schedule here. It's $8-$10 to attend.

The Blount County Public LIbrary will host an afternoon of gaming for teens from 2-4 p.m. Board games, video games, card games--you name it, it's there. It's free to attend!

The Tennessee Valley Golden Retriever Rescue's Wine and Dine for the Canines benefit will start at 5 p.m. at the Bearden Banquet Hall. Dinner, drinks, and a silent auction will all go to benefit the rescue. Tickets are $45-$50. More info here.

Local entertainment magazine Blank will celebrate its anniversary with a music festival on Market Square, headlined by Nashville indie prog-pop outfit Moon Taxi. The best part? It's free! Head over there at 6 p.m.

You could head over to the Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria at 10 to catch Marina Orchestra perform. No cover!

SUNDAY
The Knoxville Game Design crew will meetup at the Technology Cooperative (130 W. Jackson) at 2 p.m. Every level designer is invited to come hang out and talk games (from veteran designer to newbie hobbyists). It's free to attend! More info here.

The Rationalists of East Tennessee will meet at Barnes and Noble to discuss their monthly book. For more info on what they read this month, check out the group's website or call (865) 482-4680.

Close out the night at the Preservation Pub, where the Upstairs Underground Stand-Up Comedy Show starts at 8 p.m. Go get your giggle on. No cover! 21+ only.
