The Weekend Plan-It: Elvis Costello, PrideFest, and Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers

Good morning! Woo! It's the weekend! And there's tons of stuff going on. If you haven't made any plans, we have a few ideas for you. Take a look.

At noon in the visitor center, catch Hoots and Hellmouth perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Caleb Stine. It's free to attend!

At 7:30 p.m. at the Standard, check out Circle Modern Dance perform "New Terrain," which tells the stories of local refugees through dance. Tickets are $12-$15. Buy them here or at the door.

Alt-rock legend Elvis Costello will perform at the Tennessee Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets are $47-$77. Buy them here.

Canadian dubstep duo Zeds Dead will perform at the International (the former Blackstock/Valarium) tonight at 9 with David Heartbreak. Tickets are $20-$50. Buy them here. 18+ only.

Wreckless Eric, he of 1970s punk fame, will perform at the Pilot Light at 10 p.m. It's $7 to attend. 18+ only.

At noon, go check out the Big Kahuna Wing Festival at World's Fair Park. Go sample some of the 3,000+ chicken wings that'll be on offer. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. Kids under 8 get in free.

At 1 p.m., check out the Knoxville PrideFest parade, which starts downtown. After the parade, the festival proper starts, and headlining this year's celebration is the Indigo Girls. It's free to attend!

The Knoxville Brewfest will take over the Southern Railway Station at 4 p.m. Get your glass and walk up and down the station and enjoy unlimited amazing beer. Tickets are $50. Buy them here.

1980s/90s Southern alt-rockers Drivin' 'N' Cryin' will perform at the Shed in Maryville at 8 p.m. with the Eskimo Brothers. Tickets are $15. Buy them here.

Wrap up the night at the Preservation Pub, where King Super and the Excellents will perform at 10 p.m. Cover's $5. 21+ only.

The East Tennessee History Center will have an exhibit featuring Appalachian children's literature. The museum opens at 1 p.m.

The Tennessee Valley Players will perform the classic musical 'West Side Story' at 3 p.m. at the Carousel Theatre. Tickets are $18. Buy them here.

Bruce Hornsby and the  Noisemakers will perform at the Bijou Theatre at 8 p.m. with ChessBoxer. Tickets are $49.50-$69.50. Buy them here.
